Happy "1st" Birthday Livi Sue!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Livi Sue! Wow! I can't believe how incredibly fast this year has flown by! After you were born, we moved into our new house and have almost been here a year! You have brought so much happiness to our family and we love you so much! You are so close to walking! (I have made it a point to discourage it because then you will be EVERYWHERE and into EVERYTHING!) You LOVE your brother and sisters! Nobody makes you laugh like they do! We love hearing you say the few words you know.
"Mama, Dadadadada, Bubba, Tista(sister), HAAAAAAAAAAA!(Hank)..that one is the funniest one!, Di di (night night)"
And love watching you wave, blow kisses and do your cute little sign language. You have been such a happy, happy baby! Although, for some reason, the last few weeks you have been sporting the "STANK FACE" . I will have to post a picture later, but you have done it most of the day today! You give the BIGGEST crusties EVER! If you don't get EXACTLY what you want, you show your STANK FACE! It is hilarious!
We love you so much and are so grateful you are part of our family!
Love,
Mom :)

Goodbye Sweet Grandma GG....WE LOVE YOU!

Lorraine D. Winger Darley
June 7, 1918-June 2, 2010
My sweet Grandma passed away on June 2, 2010. Just 5 days before her 92nd birthday! She was truly an amazing woman! She lived such a full life! She served 2 missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She LOOOOOOOOOOOVED doing Genealogy! Here is what is so amazing about my Grandma Lorraine. She is my Mother's step-mother and married my mom's Dad. My Mom was raised by her Grandparents because her mother passed away while she was giving birth to my Mom and my cute Grandpa just went through a rough time and wasn't able to care for my Mom. So she was raised by her Mothers parents. My Grandma Lorraine was married to my Grandpa Darley in 1952 and they had a beautiful baby boy, Bruce Thomas Darley who was later killed at war. My Grandma had 2 daughters of her own, Kathy and Patty who have been incredible sisters to my Mom....
My Grandpa and Grandma were later divorced. Here's the amazing thing. My Grandma Lorraine could have walked out of my Mom's life after the end of her marriage to my Mom's Dad. But she didn't!!!

She has been the most amazing Mother to MY MOM and the best, best, best Grandma ever! And Great Grandma.."GG"! Every holiday she would send a little bag of goodies to each of my kids with a dollar. Alex even remembers that and loves her for thinking of them! She made the most AMAZING Chocolate cupcakes! She moved to Montana to live with my Aunt Patty a few years ago and it was so hard cause she had always been close to us HERE!

So my mom sent us an email a few days before Grandma passed away to let us know she wasn't doing well and to remember her in our prayers. I had a MASSIVE emotional breakdown. Mostly because she wasn't HERE for me to see her one last time. So for 3 hours one morning, I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed and finally decided I needed to call her. Even though she hadn't opened her eyes, hadn't made a sound for a few days, she couldn't get out of bed and she slept all day. When I called my Aunt, I said, "Can I please talk to Grandma? Can you just hold the phone up to her ear?". So she did. I said, "Grandma, it's Julie." Right when I said that, she made a noise like she wanted so desperately to say something and flickered her eyes for just a moment! Then I just said, "Grandma, we love you so much and want you to know that! Go ahead and go, if you need to...it's ok and we love you more than you will ever know! " I felt so much better afterwards. Completely at peace. She passed away that night. I am so glad I was able to say Goodbye, even though it wasn't in person!

Her funeral was amazing. Small, but perfect! My sisters and I sang, "Because I have been given much" and my parents spoke. It really was a perfect CELEBRATION of her life!

Then, I have a cute friend I reconnected with on Facebook that has a balloon business.."Malloons" and she drove out and brought 40 balloons, we handed them out to everyone at the graveside and everyone gave their balloon a kiss and sent their LOVE to Grandma "GG" in heaven. It was so PERFECT! And anyone who knows the Dahlquist family knows we love our balloons! Thank you Malisa! :)

*******************************************************************************

Grandma, I love you so much! Thank you for being such a BIG part of my life and loving me like you did! I miss you so much already but am so grateful that I KNOW I will be with you again someday!!!! And mostly, THANK YOU for being a Mom to MY Mom! You will never know how much she needed you! :)

Love you Grandma!

'Til we meet again!
Love,
Pulse :)
