My pick so far for American Idol......

So I LOOOOVE this guy! He has done Broadway, is a total rocker and could not be more AWESOME! He has the greatest voice ever! He is a perfect mix of Freddy Mercury..(from Queen...for those of you who aren't rockers)...and any Broadway star!
He is so far, my 100% pick to win this year! I guess we will see! I absolutely love this show!

Poor Bubba.....

So I thought this was hilarious! A few nights ago, I was getting Alex ready for bed and the particular sweatshirt he had on is harder than heck to get off! It ended up getting totally stuck! And instead of continuing to pull on it to get it off, I went running for the camera! Alex was screaming, "Get it off...Get it off!" I yelled back to him, "Hang on, just grabbing the camera!" I was laughing my head off!! He then said, "Why are you taking a picture of me with my face hurting like this? That's mean!" Well..................yep! It was pretty mean, but it's also pretty dang hilarious!
It totally looks like he is smiling!! Well, he isn't!! It was more like squealing!

Happy Birthday Mom!!!!!!!!

We had our Feb. Birthdays last week for Mom and Charly! It was so fun! One thing that my mom asks for every year for her birthday is a memory of her, our family...etc. Then she puts them all in a binder so she will have them forever! It is so fun to read everyones memories! It was great to be "All together again". It seems like forever since we have all been together! And the reason I put quotations around the "All together again" is because that is our little family song....followed by our family cheer! YEP! We have a family cheer! Here is our ritual every time we are "All together again".......

(Song)

"We're all together again, we're here, we're here.
We're all together again, we're here, we're here.
But who knows when we'll be all together again.
Singin' All together again....We're here...WE'RE HERE!!!!"

(And here is the famous Dahlquist family cheer written by my Grandma D!)

Ticky Ticky toe toe no so rombo er bay bishkay ishmo pom pom....
We are the Dahlquist family! We're as happy as we can be!
When you hear this incredible cheer,
You will know the Dahlquist family is near!
Hipta minnika hannika socks da boom dee ala YOOHOO!!!!!

****************************************************************

I can almost picture what each of your facial expressions are after reading that....What the????
We have done that cheer ever since I can remember! :) You should have seen Brady's face the first time we ever did it for him! He just sat there not really knowing what to do!! But now, he fully participates! I bet most people would pay money to see Brady yelping that baby out with his LOW, monotone voice!! :)
Ahhhh.....I love my family!
Happy Birthday Mom and Charly! Mom and Dad, thanks for making our family the fun,
happy family that we are!

I think Heather and I had a mouth full of hair after this shot!

Here is the Dahlquist face! Notice my Mom is the only one who can't do it! We inherited it from our Dad! :)

The Cabin.....and Alex's race!

This last weekend we went to our friend's cabin with them and had such a fun time! We love them! Brady and Benji have been best buddies for a long time. Benji and Allison just returned last year from 10 years in Missouri for Benji's med school! They are 2 of my favorite people EVER! Benji is absolutely hilarious! My girls just sat and giggled at Benji ALL night! There is NEVER a dull moment with him! ......EVER! Thanks Benji and Alli! We love you guys!

After coming home from the cabin, we went to Alex's BMX race. He did great! He LOVES it so much! He is still getting use to just riding the track! It is so fun to see how excited he gets! And he had lots of family there to cheer him on!

Alex and his friend, Jameson! He worships Jameson! He loves him!

A few sweet moments with my Grandpa.....

Today has been quite an emotional day for me! I had my Ultrasound today..(even though I already know the gender!)....This was the full-on Ultrasound! I have been pretty nervous about it because I haven't felt this baby move as much as my others! Then yesterday I had some massive cramping for about 20 minutes and then it totally went away. Then last night I had a dream that left me an emotional wreck this morning. Here is just a little background on why some of my dreams have been so meaningful to me.....

My Grandpa passed away about 14 years ago. My parents were in Hamburg, Germany serving 3 years there with my Dad as Mission President. It was especially hard for my Dad because it was his Father and he couldn't be there for the funeral. Grandpa died pretty suddenly and was in his early 70's, so we thought he would be with us much longer. That was really the first person who I was close to that had passed away and I did NOT handle it well. I have always been one who has absolutely feared death.....Not so much for me, but more, the thought of losing a loved one.

Anyway, back to the dreams. I don't know why, but for some reason, I have been lucky enough to have many AMAZING dreams where I am able to spend some time with my Grandpa. I cannot even explain what a dream like this is like for me! To be able to actually see and also talk to my Grandpa in these dreams is unlike anything I could ever even explain!
I am mostly writing about these dreams so that one day when I look back and read this, it will help me remember about the time I spent with him..."In my dreams" .

Last night I dreamt that Grandpa was sitting in a room holding a newborn baby girl...I was on the other side of the glass looking in. This part, I am sure comes from the fact that I watch a lot of the TV Show "House" , which is a medical show and they are always doing MRI's and CT scans and talk to the patient through the glass......It was just like that, except he was sitting in this room with nothing but this little baby and the chair he was sitting on. I pushed the button in front of me so that he could hear me on the other side of the glass. I said, " Grandpa...I'll be over there in just a minute to get her!" Then he said, "No Sis, she is just fine. She will be right here with me." I said again, " Grandpa, let me just come get her from you!" and once again he said, "She is staying here with me. She will be fine."

So when I woke up, I couldn't even move. I couldn't talk or really even think about anything else. I was devastated. I really and truly interpreted this dream as that we would not be able to have this baby here with us. Now just keep in mind that every dream I have had with my Grandpa there had to do with one of my babies before they were born, and even my sister's baby. And each time there was something he said that really did actually end up ringing true with each child.

I said a prayer this morning before I went for my appointment and asked for me to just be able to deal with whatever the news was.....Well, she is perfectly healthy! And I sobbed through the ENTIRE Ultrasound! All very HAPPY tears! The sweet lady that did it was so nice to me! She didn't think I was the least bit crazy!

So now I know that my Grandpa is taking good care of my sweet baby girl! I know that some may say I'm crazy or that these are just dreams. But I am soooo grateful for those few short moments that I have to spend more time with my Grandpa! ....Even if it is in my sleep!

Sorry, these pictures did not scan great! Nonetheless, she is perfectly healthy! YAHOO!

Hijacked Camera....

Last night we had a party at my Mom and Dad's for Charly and my Mom's birthday! It was also my massive day of work for the end of the month coding that needed to be in last night. My work triples on these days, thanks to so many doctors who hold onto their stuff until the very last minute! So I stayed upstairs most of the time working. While I was working, my camera was HIJACKED! When I turned on my camera this morning, these were all the pictures I found on there! I am posting quite a few of them, mostly so I can use them as leverage with my nieces and nephews when they get older!!! I love that all of the cousins love each other so much!
