Today has been quite an emotional day for me! I had my Ultrasound today..(even though I already know the gender!)....This was the full-on Ultrasound! I have been pretty nervous about it because I haven't felt this baby move as much as my others! Then yesterday I had some massive cramping for about 20 minutes and then it totally went away. Then last night I had a dream that left me an emotional wreck this morning. Here is just a little background on why some of my dreams have been so meaningful to me.....
My Grandpa passed away about 14 years ago. My parents were in Hamburg, Germany serving 3 years there with my Dad as Mission President. It was especially hard for my Dad because it was his Father and he couldn't be there for the funeral. Grandpa died pretty suddenly and was in his early 70's, so we thought he would be with us much longer. That was really the first person who I was close to that had passed away and I did NOT handle it well. I have always been one who has absolutely feared death.....Not so much for me, but more, the thought of losing a loved one.
Anyway, back to the dreams. I don't know why, but for some reason, I have been lucky enough to have many AMAZING dreams where I am able to spend some time with my Grandpa. I cannot even explain what a dream like this is like for me! To be able to actually see and also talk to my Grandpa in these dreams is unlike anything I could ever even explain!
I am mostly writing about these dreams so that one day when I look back and read this, it will help me remember about the time I spent with him..."In my dreams" .
Last night I dreamt that Grandpa was sitting in a room holding a newborn baby girl...I was on the other side of the glass looking in. This part, I am sure comes from the fact that I watch a lot of the TV Show "House" , which is a medical show and they are always doing MRI's and CT scans and talk to the patient through the glass......It was just like that, except he was sitting in this room with nothing but this little baby and the chair he was sitting on. I pushed the button in front of me so that he could hear me on the other side of the glass. I said, " Grandpa...I'll be over there in just a minute to get her!" Then he said, "No Sis, she is just fine. She will be right here with me." I said again, " Grandpa, let me just come get her from you!" and once again he said, "She is staying here with me. She will be fine."
So when I woke up, I couldn't even move. I couldn't talk or really even think about anything else. I was devastated. I really and truly interpreted this dream as that we would not be able to have this baby here with us. Now just keep in mind that every dream I have had with my Grandpa there had to do with one of my babies before they were born, and even my sister's baby. And each time there was something he said that really did actually end up ringing true with each child.
I said a prayer this morning before I went for my appointment and asked for me to just be able to deal with whatever the news was.....Well, she is perfectly healthy! And I sobbed through the ENTIRE Ultrasound! All very HAPPY tears! The sweet lady that did it was so nice to me! She didn't think I was the least bit crazy!
So now I know that my Grandpa is taking good care of my sweet baby girl! I know that some may say I'm crazy or that these are just dreams. But I am soooo grateful for those few short moments that I have to spend more time with my Grandpa! ....Even if it is in my sleep!

Sorry, these pictures did not scan great! Nonetheless, she is perfectly healthy! YAHOO!
