Draper Temple Open House

Today we went to the Open House for the Draper Temple. It was so awesome to have the kids see how beautiful the temple is! They LOVED it!
I asked each of them how they felt while they were in the temple and this is what they said.....

McKaylee: "You could tell that the spirit was there."
Brinley: "Yah, the spirit was there. I felt good"
Alex: "Oh yah, I felt the spirit. Wait, no I didn't......Wait, does the spirit smell? Cause it smelled clean in there! Yes, and I loved the pictures of Jesus all over!"
It is a small but beautiful temple! What a great experience for our little family!

"Mom, My feet REEK!"

So tonight the kids and I were sitting around watching "American Idol" and Alex all of the sudden turned to me and said, "Mom, my feet REEK!". I immediately looked over and started laughing my head off. He had his feet clear up to his face and then said... as he was shoving his big toe up his nostril, "Hey, but if I do this, I can't smell anything!" So of course we all had to try it! Then we were seeing who was most flexible! Believe me, it's pretty tricky doing this when you are almost 5 months pregnant! But my kids were pretty impressed that I could even do it! ....(as was I) I told the kids that they must have inherited the toe-to-nose thing from their Grandma! ..........When my mom was really little, she use to suck her toe instead of her thumb! Ahhhh.....Thanks Grandma for passing such a great 'quirk' on to your Grand kids! We had quite a laugh over it! Although, I must say that I am so grateful the toes only made it up their nose and not in their mouth~!!!!

I know, I know.............Sorry, this is not a pretty picture!

And this one is not ANY better!

Alex's First BMX Race!!!

Tonight was Alex's first BMX race. A few weeks ago, we went to watch a few of Alex's older buddies race. While we were there, they did a thing where any kid could go out and race one time around. There were kids on trikes, training wheels and pretty much anything. Some even had their parents pushing them through the course. So our neighbor, Rory, took Alex and he used his little friend's bike. He made it the whole way by himself and after that was insistent that we sign him up! So we did! He hasn't talked about anything else since...."When do I race? Is it my race yet? Did Dad get my Bike?"
So of course, with his Dad owning a Bike Shop, he got a new awesome racing bike and all of the gear too! He looks so dang cute with the whole "get up" on!

So he raced the first Moto and had a little "spill"....but got right back up! Then he did his second Moto and came in 2nd place! It was such an exciting race! So then he was in the semi-finals where he was actually the youngest of all of the racers. He actually had quite the spill on that one, but again, got right up and finished the race!!!

He didn't care at all that he fell because he still got a trophy!! He had such a great time racing and I'm sure will be doing it for quite a while!

Brady just kept saying over and over....."Ahhh, this is my proudest moment ever! He just got back up and kept going!!!"

Way to go Bubba! We are so proud of you!

Brady helping Alex at the gate.

Bubba at the finish line!
Look close at this one! Alex is in the red Jersey....The kid in front of him totally biffed it and Alex went right around him!

It's a.............GIRL!!!!

Yes, we are adding more estrogen to our already crazy home!! We are having another girl!! I am so excited! They have sooo much cute stuff for girls now, that they didn't have 8 years ago!! Alex came with me to my Dr. appointment today and after the Dr. walked out of the room I told Alex we were having a girl and he said, "Ahhh, CWAP! So can we name it a boy name so it will be a boy??" Then after I explained to him that it doesn't really work that way, he said, " Well, is baby Kenyon a boy?" So I said, "Yes". Then he said, "Tyson and Tanner are mean! They got a brother and I didn't!!!"....(They are his little neighbor friends!) He feels better about the news tonight! The girls were ECSTATIC!! We are so excited! We are still debating on names......so we'll see!!

Move Your Boogie Body!!

So both of my sisters have posted this on their blogs and it is seriously the funniest thing I have seen in a LONG time! For those of you not familiar with JAZZERCIZE, you are really missing out! I have vivid memories of following my mom around the house when I was about 5 years old, with my 2 older sisters and doing full-on JAZZERCIZE with her! Now, I have never actually attended a JAZZERCIZE class..............and yes, they still have them!! But I hear it has revolutionized quite a bit! Hmmmmmmm....we'll see. I have a hard time believing it is any different than the crazy dancing, tights and leg warmer "kookiness" it was 25 years ago. :)
I LOVE incorporating dance into aerobics!! Hip-hop is my absolute favorite class to go to! But after watching this, I dunno....maybe we need to bring the old fashion JAZZERCIZE back!
Judi Sheppard Misset (in the middle) first hit the floor in 1982 with her boogie-jammin' moves! This is truly hilarious! You will hate my guts though, because you will have this lady in your head the rest of the day!!..."Oom chicka oom chick oom chicka oom!" Enjoy!! ...and Move Your Boogie Body, Girls!

My 5 AMAZING caretakers!!.........Goodbye Sweet Lola!

I have the greatest little family ever! Last night I got hit with one of my stupid migraines! And yes, this picture is EXACTLY what I feel like when I get one! It came on so fast and was soooo horrible! As soon as it got to it's worst point, McKaylee came right up to me and said, "Mom, you go lay down, and I will make dinner!" After I refused a few times, then Brinley came up to me and said, "Mom....go right now! Go lay down! We promise we won't fight! Just go lay down!" So I did. I went in my room to lay down on my bed and then little Hank came hopping up on the bed and nuzzled up right next to me....I swear he totally knows when I am not feeling great! Then a few minutes later, Alex came running in and hopped up on the bed and said, "Mom, I'm gonna take care of you while you are in here with your 'migwaine' ". Then he proceeded to sing every song he knew...including "I Think I'm Paranoid" (Off of Rock Band) And he sang it with so much vigor and VOLUME! I thought my head might explode right there but I couldn't stop him, it was just too dang cute!

Then, after being serenaded to for about 20 minutes, Brady walked in! He came in and then took over EVERYTHING!!! He shut the door and I was out the rest of the night! He is so amazing! They all are! Thanks to my sweet little family for taking such good care of me and my achy..breaky HEAD!!
*********************************************
Then this morning, my neighbor called me with the news that her little Yorkie, Lola had died during the night. Lola gave birth to two beautiful little puppies, Louie and Lilly yesterday afternoon. She had a very rough labor and ended up having a c-section! She passed away early this morning. They have since found a sweet surrogate mother to help nurse and care for the puppies for a few weeks.( A poodle who had puppies 6 weeks ago).. Sienna is such a sweet little mother to take care of these puppies! I know they are so grateful to her owner for sharing Sienna with them!

Lola and Hank on her first day with her family!

WE WILL MISS YOU, LOLA!

Movie and a late night and Utes in New Orleans!!

Tonight, I told the kids they could have a "late night" and watch a movie. They decided to use the chairs I had out from a baby shower I had earlier today and make comfy beds! They have actually been playing in them all afternoon!

Alex with his new helmet for BMX racing.....he is soooooooooo excited!

********************************************
Brady and his buddy Ryan, along with the Norris crew were all able to go to New Orleans for the BCS Sugarbowl where his BELOVED Utes played an amazing game and defeated Alabama.
Brady and Ryan were going to stay a day longer than expected, but decided to come home because of how disgustingly filthy and gross New Orleans was. He said it was absolutely FILTHY!! In more ways than one! Here are some of the pics he took of the "BOYS" trip to New Orleans! GOOOOOOOOOO UTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brady and Ryan at the big game!
Shane sporting his sweet Utes Earring!
Troy and his little bro, Murph
THE FINAL SCORE!!!!!!!!! GO UTES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kids say the DARNDEST things!

So I am just posting all of my "Kids say the Darndest things" as a post to get it off my side bar so when I print out my blog it will have them included so here they are, if you haven't had the chance to read them, read a few! And have a great week!
I saw this quote and loved it!!!

"If you have made another person on this earth smile,
your life has been worthwhile!"

1.8.09 Today, Alex and I were sitting having lunch and talking about EVERYTHING!! He was asking a million questions about any and everything! I was telling him that he needed to eat all of his food so he could get big and turn "5 " next year. That sparked the question, "So, how do you turn 4?" So I said to him, "You just have a birthday every year and turn a year older! " Then he said, "No, like does Jesus put a timer in you?"

**Then we moved on to the subject of the baby and how it got into my tummy. So I said, "Heavenly Father puts the baby there to grow and get ready to come to earth." Then he said, "Oooooh! I get it! Then the baby eats what you eat and gets big then Dr. Tanner uses his "tools" to get the baby out!" I said to him, "Bubba, you are so smart! Where did you learn all of that?" Then he simply said, "In Spanish Class!" Where his little mind comes up with these things, I have no clue!

12.29.08 The other day, I was rushing to get the kids fed before taking off somewhere and gave the kids their food and said, "Everyone just say silent prayers"....Alex then shouted out, "Hey I know what a silent prayer is, you go like this..(he proceeded to fold his arms and close is eyes) then he said, "Then in a minute you say..AMEN!" OOOOPS!! Needless to say, it was a perfect teaching moment for us! He is still having a hard time with the "saying it in your head part" so he now just whispers. :)

12.10.08 Tonight we were all sitting and watching a cute Christmas show and Alex was sitting with me and out of nowhere turned to me and whispered, "Mom, I am in love with you!" It was so so cute! Then Brady went in to put him to bed and during his personal prayers he said, "Bless mommy and the baby and that mommy can have the baby so me and mommy can go on a date cause I'm in love with her"

12.10.08 Today Alex and I were reading a new book he got about Sharks. In one part it talks about how Sharks date clear back to even before Dinosaurs. I explained to him that dinosaurs were now extinct so we don't see them anymore and they don't exist! He sat straight up and said, "WHAT??" I said, "Dinosaurs don't live anymore! And it's probably a good thing cause they were all really big and pretty mean." He then said, " Not all of them!! Even the nice ones are dead?" I told him all dinosaurs were gone...even the nice ones. His eyes filled up with tears and he said, "Mom, that is so sad, that hurts my feelings!"

12.03.08 Today Alex was outside the bathroom door while I was in their puking my guts out, yet again. When I came out, he said, "Hey I have a great idea, let's ask Santa to bring our baby for Christmas, then you won't be sick anymore!"

11.25.08 Brinley is so witty it is hilarious! She says the funniest...almost crazy things sometimes! Last night we were saying family prayer and in the middle of her prayer, completely serious, she said, "Please bless us that we will have a great Thanksgiving in St. George and that we will have a feast for all to remember!". It was all I could do not to bust out laughing, but she was totally sincere in saying it!

11.10.08 So I had my first OB appointment today and Alex came with me. When we got in the Dr's office, the nurse came in and talked to me then set out a sheet on the bed..(to cover myself after I got undressed). Alex turned to me and said, "Is the doctor going to see your 'you know what?' " As he pointed down in that area. "And I said, "It is OK for this Dr. to because that is how he checks the baby." Then he sat there for a sec and then said, "I'm tellin' dad! "

11.03.08 Bubba said this to me today, "Mom, can I have something 'helpthy' to eat?" I gave him a list of a few healthy things he could have then he said, "Actually, can I have a tootsie roll? That is 'helpthy'! Grandma Sue said it was! "

11.03.08 I asked Alex where the baby was expecting him to just say it was in my tummy and he said this instead, "Uh, duh! It is inside your belly button....actually, it's on the other side of your belly button! ("actually" is one of his favorite words lately! )

11.04.08 So Alex is convinced we are having twins...that would be his vote!! ...not gonna happen!:) I was laying by him tonight before he fell asleep and he all of the sudden sat straight up and said, "Hey, I have a great idea! Dad can have the boy baby in his tummy and you can have the girl baby in yours!" If only it could work that way!

My sweet kids!!!

This morning I took Alex to preschool and came home to an empty house. After a few weeks of no school, Christmas chaos and CRAZY hyper kids, you would think an empty house, and the quiet would be just what I needed......I HATE IT! Yes, it is so nice sometimes to have a little bit of peace and quiet, but for some reason, I'm not loving it this morning. So I thought I would sit and think of a FEW of the things that I absolutely love about my kids! So here goes..........
****************************
**I love how Brinley has such a tender heart. She is always checking to see how I am feeling and seeing if I need anything. Lately, she has been so attached to me..and home. Anytime she goes anywhere, or if I go somewhere, she calls 50 times just to talk to me! She is always climbing on my lap to cuddle too! I love it!

**I love our second mom! McKaylee has always been like a second mother in our family. She takes care of everyone! Including me! Last week, I had a migraine that lasted 4 days and was in bed for about 3 of the 4 days. They went to their Grandma's one day while I was down in bed and Brinley told me that McKaylee was so upset and crying later that day because she
was so worried about me! Thanks for worrying about me, McKaylee! :)

**I love holding each of my kids! Alex is such a snuggler! I can't even sit in the same room without snuggling with him! He has always been like that, and I LOVE IT!!! If I lay by him at night, he always has to be touching my face or holding my hand to fall asleep!

**I love listening to the kids when they are watching a movie together....especially a funny one. A few nights ago, they were watching "Baby Geniuses" and I had just finished blow drying my hair and heard massive laughing out in the family room! I sat in my room for 10 minutes just listening to them laughing their heads off! Nothing makes me happier!

**I love listening to my kids play together! The other day, the kids were downstairs playing Rock Band. It was so cute. I tiptoed downstairs to watch and it was hilarious! We had our own little Family band! Singing their hearts out to Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a prayer".....I love Rock Band for that reason!! It is introducing my kids to all the music I LOVED back in the day! They are such little Rockers!

**I love Alex's prayers! He always puts so much thought into them!, and says the cutest things. As do the girls!

**I love watching my kids sleep! Probably one of my favorite things! They are so quiet and peaceful!

**I love right when I pick Alex up from school and when the girls get home from school! There is nothing better than hearing all about what happened at school! And the older the girls are getting, the LONGER the stories are....and with every little detail! I love it! It sounds a little like this, " And so......and then, like...... it was totally awesome...like it was crazy weird!

**I love that even though Brinley wakes up at 6 almost EVERY morning she is always so so chipper! ...............Not so much on the rare days she sleeps in and I have to wake her up, then she is more like a bear! :)

**I love watching McKaylee sing! She is a natural performer! She was down playing American Idol on the Wii the other day and singing "Islands in the stream" and singing her heart out! She loves the stage, like her mom!

**I love when Brinley or Alex just out of the blue say "I love you so much, mom!"

**I love when our kids go downstairs for a bit, then come up and show us a dance they have made up.....including Alex! It is hilarious!

**I love my kids and their manners! They are all so good at saying "please and thank you" and my favorite that I have drilled in their little minds...that my Dad drilled in mine when I was little...instead of "I don't like it" or "I hate that".....they say "No thanks, I don't care for that!"
Whenever I make dinner, they ALWAYS say "Thank you so much Mom!"

I love my kids so much! They are my life! I am so excited to bring another little "Edwards" into our family soon!

Missing our Dad.....

So Brady took off yesterday for New Orleans for the big Sugar Bowl which I must say was absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a game! Anyway, we decided not to take him to the airport because it is SUCH a traumatic experience for the kids. ...Here is why. :)

We have been so lucky that Brady has never had to travel with his job....EVER! We usually go once a year to the Specialized Convention but that is about it. So when Brady leaves, even if it is only for a day or two, our whole house falls apart! The kids cry and cry, I cry, Brady cries. We are quite a pathetic site! We always try to explain to the kids how lucky we are that Dad never has to travel like some other Dads do for their work. It doesn't seem to help one bit!

Brady has been gone a little over a day and Brinley and Alex have probably asked about 30 times when Dad was coming home. Tonight in Alex's prayer he said, "Please bless dad to get home tonight and surprise us while we are sleeping so we won't be sad anymore." Then after he finished his prayer, he and Brinley were in tears again asking when Dad would be home!
I chose not to text Brady and tell him because I knew that being the "softy" he is, that would bring him to tears too!

So Brady, you always joke with me that I'm probably having a blast while you are gone! But I am miserable too! I love you so much and miss you when you are not here, just like the kids miss you too! Come home soon! We love you! Thanks for all you do for our family! :)

Christmas Eve..........and fun in the snow!

This year for Christmas Eve, we were with Brady's family! We had such a great time! The kids were up at 5:00am Christmas Eve morning and were beyond crazy excited all day!! Running around the house screaming...."It's Christmas Eve...YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!" It was pretty funny! Brady worked til about 5 then we headed over to his parents! Everyone had such a great time! We had a little program where some of the kids sang, and some played the piano!......and towards the end of the night we got a strip show from Jada and Alex....They were dancing around in their skivvys so excited!!
I love Christmas Eve and spending time with the family! Although, Tanner....you were missed! But we love you and know that you are doing an incredible job serving in Sweden! Bubba and Jada serenading to all of us!

New P.J.'s ..............shocker!

McKaylee playing "Deck the Halls"

Mickey has had a massive growth spurt this past year! He took his place right in front!

Bow...chicka...wow...wow............

********************************************************************

After having massive snow on Christmas Day and the few days after, the kids went outside to play in the snow! They had a blast! I'm not a huge fan of the "snow play" cause it is such a royal pain to get them in and out of their snow clothes, but they had so much fun!

Sorry, for those of you with weak stomachs....this is pretty nasty...the boogar sampling. EW!
